Claire - CEO
Claire is Workplace HR’s passionate and steadfast CEO. Claire’s firm belief that HR services can be both commercial and bespoke form the back bone of our organisation. Claire brings with her many years of supporting businesses with her hands on and practical approach – she is able to advise on a full range of HR issues but specialises in operational and strategic issues. She has worked with multiple organisations within numerous fields, both corporate and charity, from start-ups, to subsidiaries, to flagship companies and household names.
When Claire isn't on-site with clients delivering HR advice and solutions, she can be found visiting new and potential clients, and attending networking events and exhibitions.
Karen - Operations Manager
Karen joined the organisation in May 2010. Initially working as a Senior HR Administrator, Karen is adept at building client relationships, and tailoring her manner and approach to the individual customer. But her prior work experience as an Operations Executive within the recruitment sector, combined with her flair for systems, analytical and process driven approach, and attention to detail, led to a specialism in HR Systems and Software.
Karen is also CIPD qualified, with a post graduate diploma in Human Resources Management, enabling her to continually strive to ensure that our systems and procedures, both internally and for our clients, are simultaneously compliant with best practice and employment law, and promote efficient working practices.
Rachael - HR & Employment Law Manager
Rachael has been with the organisation since 2011 when she joined as part of the HR Administration team, and we are hugely proud that she has progressed internally, and gained her CIPD Level 5 Employment Law qualification, and now heads up our HR & Employment Law team.
Rachael provides HR advice and support to a range of our clients across the UK. She prides herself on relationship building, and taking the time to understand the individual needs of the organisation so that she can tailor her advice accordingly, including working on-site with clients when necessary – this is reflected in the fact that Rachael has been the first point of contact for many of our largest and oldest clients for a number of years. Rachael also provides additional HR administration support including employee contracts, company handbooks, changes to terms and conditions of employment and payroll, and delivers bespoke HR training to line managers and supervisors.
Mark - Technical & Marketing Manager
Mark is a highly regarded and extremely successful Technical & Marketing professional. Detail driven by nature, his technical capability and knowledge of media platforms is exceptional.
Mark is accountable for the development, implementation, tracking and optimisation of our marketing campaigns across all digital channels.
Highly motivated and focused on building strong relationships, Mark is also responsible for developing successful marketing research, outbound communications programs, brand development, website management, and collateral materials that lead WorkPlace HR’s marketing strategies.
Lucy - HR & Employment Law Advisor
Since completing her CIPD qualification Lucy has remained dedicated to continuously developing updating her knowledge and skills within the field of HR. Her experience of generalist HR and Training over the last 13 years has helped her to develop the skills and abilities to deliver excellent customer service within both the private and public sector to serve a wide range of customer requirements. Lucy’s current and previous roles have been heavily focused on advising and guiding line managers in regard to employment legislation throughout the HR cycle from Recruitment and Selection, through to termination. Lucy has coordinated and advised on a variety of Grievance, Disciplinary and Capability investigations and is confident in ensuring that current legislation and ACAS guidelines are adhered to. Lucy also has extensive experience and practical application of Learning and Development functions from the design and delivery of training and coaching.
Gemma - HR & Employment Law Advisor
Gemma is a methodical, collaborative HR Generalist, with over 10 years’ experience in both private and charity sectors. Gemma has been CIPD qualified since 2008, completing her post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management at Kingston University. She has gone on to develop a successful HR career, with previous roles as HR Manager at a publishing house and a prominent cancer charity. Her passion lies in the charity sector, providing specialist HR guidance and support on the employee lifecycle, updating policies, procedures and handbooks, as well as designing and delivering bespoke training workshops. Gemma enjoys the combination of fast paced reactive HR with the more in-depth proactive project work. She joined the WorkPlace HR team in early 2017 and is working primarily with our charity and not-for-profit clients.
Fay - HR & Employment Law Advisor
Fay has worked in HR for 8 years starting her career in the UK branch of a Global Digital Security Company and has since worked across a number of industries. Fay is able to advise and guide managers across the whole employee lifecycle, with particular interest in absence management. Fay enjoys working with systems and has experience supporting system implementation. She is logical and process driven in her approach but able to adapt to working with staff at every level of the organisation. Fay believes that the HR function should complement and support the Company Strategy and drive Company performance. Fay joined us in early 2017.
Sarah - HR & Employment Law Advisor
Sarah joined WorkPlace HR in December 2017 and brings with her experience in human resources, personal development, compliance, management and training. She has a Certificate in Human Resources Practice and is an associate member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She is also qualified to teach and train in the lifelong learning sector. Sarah’s responsibility is to provide HR support to Client with just 5 employees, up to 100; these can be anywhere in the UK but mainly between Cheltenham and London.
The support is varied too, anything from creating contracts of employment, policies, staff handbooks right through to supporting managers with performance improvement programmes and implementation of HR Systems. She prides herself on her professionalism, confidentiality, employment law knowledge, commercial awareness and being friendly and approachable. Sarah is also happy to undertake presentations and talks on a range of HR topics to local networking groups and organisations. Polly - HR Administrator
After previously working in an HR apprentice role and completing her Level 3 CIPD Certificate in HR Practice, Polly joined us in the summer of 2016 looking for the next step of her career in HR. She brings with her experience of working in industries such as retail, sales, renewable energy and financial services. Since joining WorkPlace HR Polly has demonstrated that she is a responsible, driven and trustworthy individual with a passion for HR. Polly thrives on supporting employees and employers with day-to-day HR activities such as new joiner and leaver processes, absence management and liaison with payroll. She has shown herself to be adaptable and flexible and a fast learner. She has also endeared herself to our clients very quickly. Polly has completed her CIPD level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management, and is a very active member of the Gloucestershire CIPD branch.
